Saint Joseph Hospital continues to be ranked among the best hospitals in Illinois - and the nation.

Saint Joseph is one of only four hospitals in Illinois and one of only 80 in the nation to earn both the Distinguished Hospital for "Clinical Excellence" and "Patient Safety" Awards in 2008. This is the second year in a row that the hospital received the award.

Overall, patients treated at a hospital receiving this award are, on average, 43 percent less likely to face a patient safety incident than at hospitals performing in the lowest-tier category.
